You’ll feel better about yourself and will feel more connected to the community. Plus volunteering couldn’t be easier with these great volunteering opportunities around The Frasier:
King Street Cats
As a resident of the pet-friendly Frasier, you might already have pets you love. If you’d like to share that love with the community, consider volunteering at King Street Cats. This organization helps adopt and rescue more than 350 cats every year. You could foster a cat, help out at events, or work at the shelter, and try to get the adorable cats and kittens adopted. After attending a one-hour new volunteer orientation held every second Saturday of the month, volunteers are trained with more experienced volunteers so they can begin working right away.
Space of Her Own
Are your walls covered in art? You may want to consider volunteering with arts-based mentoring program called Space of Her Own. You can work together with low-income teen girls to help them with artistic skills and develop confidence. Be aware that as a mentor, you’ll agree to a year-long commitment. The year ends when you help your mentee decorate her room. You both can celebrate your hard work at an art exhibit and a reception. Who knows? Maybe the Louvre is next for your mentee!
To get involved, register for an orientation, meet the staff, fill out an application, complete an interview, undergo a background check, attend on observation night, and then get matched.
