Nasime Japanese Restaurant is a new addition to Old Town Alexandria and specializes in upscale Japanese cuisine at a casual price point. It mainly focuses on a five-course tasting menu, which changes almost daily with seasonal produce offering. The menu includes items such as Tsukuri raw dishes, Yakimono grilled dishes, and Agemono fried dishes. Some items include Scallop Cake Stuffed Sicilian Eggplaint Agedasi and Shashimi or Grilled “Sansyo” Lamb Chop.
Chef and Owner Yuh Shimomura trained in Ginza, Tokyo and has over 15 years of experience in Japanese cuisine. His passion is evident in his food, which is prepared and made from scratch. The eatery is small, only seating about 14 people, but the attention to detail is huge. Sit at the bar to watch Chef Shimomura prepare your meal and ask him questions along the way.
