Since first opening its doors to customers in 2003, Mediterranean Gourmet Market has been one of Alexandria’s favorite spots for traditional Lebanese fare. The restaurant serves house-made classics, like hummos, falafel, and tabouleh, as well as a variety of charbroiled kabobs (try the kitchen’s signature spiced kafta kabob) and classic gyro pita sandwiches. The menu also includes kid-friendly chicken sandwiches and French fries, as well as plenty of vegetarian options. Regulars suggest that for a real treat, you should try one of the savory Lebanese pies filled with spiced beef, cheese, spinach, and more. Whatever you choose, you can order your meal to be served in traditional restaurant style, or you can up the quantities and bring your meal home for family-style service at your own dining room table.
