Since it opened in 2015, Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap in Alexandria has staked its claim on its broad selection of Neapolitan pizzas from its brick oven and craft beers and fine wines from the bar. But the restaurant is also a family operation (named after Grandma Lena), and the owners strive to make the pizzeria a community hub and regular gathering place. The gorgeous outdoor patio makes a lovely backdrop for any meal, and is especially popular during Sunday brunch (start with an order of the house-made donuts, then choose from a list of entrees both sweet and savory).
During the week, gather up some friends and stop by for some of the regular happenings at Lena’s, including “meatball and martini Monday” ($7 martinis and stuffed meatballs), “wine down Wednesday” (half price on all bottles), and more.
