Calabash African Bar & Cuisine has a lot going for it. The service is top notch, with a friendly and skilled staff extremely well versed in the food they serve. The interior of the restaurant is small, but meticulously clean and orderly, with beautiful African music setting the mood — and then you get to the food.
Calabash African Bar & Cuisine offers some truly authentic and flavorful dishes, from classic Jollof rice or waakye to spicy kebabs and whole grilled tilapia. Start your meal with one of their soups, like the okra or peanut butter soup for an especially savory treat. And be sure to utilize the sauces to customize your meal with classic African flavors. The crowd favorite spicy seafood sauce also should not to be missed.
Calabash African Bar & Cuisine is open Tuesday through Sunday for lunch or dinner. It is located in Van Dorn Plaza, so plenty of parking is available.
