Did you know that Alexandria is home to the largest President’s Day parade in the entire country? This year, join some friends from The Frasier to celebrate the occasion along the streets where George Washington himself once walked, and explore the numerous historic sites throughout Old Town Alexandria.
The parade will begin in Old Town Alexandria with a speech from Mayor Hon. James P. Moran, Jr., the parade’s Grand Marshall. Patriotic floats, cars, dancers and other parade units will take to the streets to the delight of adults and children alike, and there will also be refreshment booths offering some of the city’s best food and drink options. Once the parade is through, tour Gadsby’s Tavern Museum, the Carlyle House and other historic sites with free admission all day long on President’s Day.
With more than 140 sites throughout Alexandria that are associated with George Washington, there’s nowhere better to celebrate our first president’s birthday and the President’s Day holiday!
