Learn About Masonry at The George Washington Masonic National Memorial

If you want to explore American history in a place that’s a bit off the beaten path from the traditional Washington tourist spots, check out the George Washington Masonic National Memorial. Located less than three miles from The Frasier apartments, the Masonic National Memorial is a tribute to George Washington and American Freemasonry.

The memorial and museum is open during regular business hours and on weekends. Exhibits focus on George Washington’s participation in masonry culture and his life in general. Guided tours last an hour, and if you are attending the memorial with a large group of people, you can sign up for a group tour, as long as there are at least 10 people in your group. Admission to the memorial costs $15 per person. A visit to the memorial will also bring you in close proximity to Old Town Alexandria and Washington’s Mount Vernon.
