Celebrate the Beauty of Springtime Near the Frasier at DC’s Annual Cherry Blossom Festival

Now that the weather is warming up and the plants around The Frasier are coming back into bloom, there's no better way to celebrate the season than at the DC Cherry Blossom Festival. This annual event describes itself as the "Nation's Greatest Springtime Celebration", and DC residents couldn't agree more.

This year's Cherry Blossom Festival will take place from March 20 through April 17, 2016 at various locations throughout the city. Not only does the festival showcase the city's numerous cherry blossom trees that were once a gift from Japan, it also aims to educate citizens about Japanese culture and tradition. The opening ceremony on March 26 features live musical performances in the beautiful Warner Theatre, while the Blossom Kite Festival on April 2 features a day of kite-flying on the National Mall. There will also be fireworks on the Southwest Waterfront on April 9 and the featival's capstone National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade featuring giant floats, balloons and more on April 16.
